MY STORY

Andreas Krupp

I started programming software and creating websites as far back as 2004. Back then I was still in highschool and did quite a bit of part-time webdesign work for small businesses, towns and clubs to save up some money for my biggest passion: flying.

To join those magnificent men in their flying machines was my childhood dream and in 2005 I finally took control of a glider for the first time. From there my involvement in aviation only got bigger and bigger. Over the following years I obtained several licenses and instructor ratings. Today I am the proud co-owner of a 1947 Cessna 140, fly skydivers in the legendary Pilatus PC-6, act as the head of training for a flight school and also train new flight instructors.

After highschool I studied physics at the venerable Heidelberg University. This gave me ample opportunity to hone my analytical skills and expand my knowledge in software development from webdesign to other areas, such as embedded systems and networks.

Towards the end of 2013, shortly after earning my Master's degree, I was given the chance to move from Germany to New Zealand to work with an aircraft engineering company. Over the following year I helped them to streamline their processes by creating a complete workshop management software we dubbed SAMMS, the Safer Aircraft Maintenance Management System, which is still in successful operation today.

After this exciting project and awesome time in New Zealand I came back to Germany to continue growing inside the aviation industry. I joined CAE, the leading provider of flight simulation and flight training solutions. First as a software developer and now as a system architect.

I am always open for new endeavors and challenges. So feel free to contact me with your needs!

QUESTION THE STATUS QUO

“One day everything will be well, that is our hope. Everything's fine today, that is our illusion.” — Voltaire

BUSINESS ENGINEERING: THE PROCESS

Listening to
your needs

Your business lives through the people involved. Hence I try to spend a lot of time in-house to listen to the needs and problems of everybody, from management and employees to the customers.

Business
analysis

Based on the feedback from the people involved and a careful analysis of your business I then try to identify the processes and systems that hamper your efficiency.

Storming
the brains

I always think hard to try and find ways to fine-tune your processes and IT instead of completely changing the way your business works. Often some small and simple adjustments can greatly boost your efficiency.

Getting
there

When implementing changes or developing new software or web apps I again try to work in-house as much as possible to take advantage of having immediate feedback available.

Enjoy
the results

Your satisfaction is my goal. I only consider a project terminated when everyone involved is statisfied with the results.

GET ON TOP OF YOUR PROBLEMS

“Through the right people focusing on the right things, we can, in time, get on top of a lot if not most of the problems of this world. And that's what a number of us are trying to do.” — Richard Branson

IT SYSTEMS / SOFTWARE

IT systems are only as good as one can envision them to be. As system architect I try to find the best vision using modern methodologies like creating user stories and using modelling tools as e.g. Enterprise Architect. User stories are a very easy way to capture requirements, moving from scary technical jargon to something everyone can understand and express their needs with. Modelling helps to thoroughly analyze the status quo and future solutions for any issues. It is also a great way to generate documentation that is easy to read, allowing as many users as possible to participate in the discussion.

I also have years of experience creating web applications that are easy to use, good looking, fast and secure. For this I use several state of the art frameworks such as Symfony, Bootstrap, Doctrine ORM and a number of Javascript toolkits like AngularJS. I am fluent in PHP and JavaScript and also know my way around databases like MySQL.

In more recent times I have extensively worked with C/C++, mostly in the area of flight simulation. Here multi-threaded real-time systems are used to simulate large scale synthetic worlds. In this capacity I also gained a fair amount of experience with scrum, Git, Python, Lua and automatic testing.

COMMITTED TO GETTING “IT” RIGHT

AVIATION SERVICES

Buyer
advice

Buying a used aircraft can have a lot of potential pitfalls like non-compliance to mandatory ADs or hidden problems. I can help you find the right aircraft by carefully examining the history of the model and the individual example plus offering advice for pre-purchase inspections and test flights.

Import
assistance

Quite often your dream aircraft might be located abroad. This means thinking about transport or ferry flights, certification and registration issues as well as additional costs. I have made some good experiences in these matters, with the focus being the United States.

Operational
support

Running or setting up a flight or maintenance operation? I have helped several organizations by supporting with process generation, approvals and certifications. As instructor I can also help with flight training or ferry flights if required.
